Has anyone heard of any cases fo Westnile this year?

I was just wondering, because we are getting eaten alive by the little wee-biesties but I haven't heard of any cases yet *Thank Goodness* :)

I have heard of cases in the Okanagan and I was planning on innoculating this year, then I heard about batches of vaccine being recalled from vet clinics, and thought I'd hate to shoot something into my horses and then find out it had been recalled so I didn't. I think I'm more scared at this point of bad vaccine reactions than the disease. The first year that there was a vaccine available, I heard of a horse dying near me.

It was just one kind that was recalled - PreveNile (I think, someone please correct me if I am wrong or I have the name wrong, I am just guessing here but I did read the recall and made sure that I didn't buy that brand).

It is scary though with all the vaccines that we are supposed to give. I always have my epinephrine in a syringe and ready to go every time. We had one bad reaction to a 4 way shot several years ago so are very careful now . . .
We only vaccinate for the necessary things and keep our vaccinations down as much as we can without running too much of a risk.

The one that had the reaction hasn't had any vaccines for about 8 years, and so far so good.
