For any and all inquiries and for pictures of any of our horses please email adoptions@albertahorserescue.com
All prices are negotiable.

DUSTY ROSE
Dusty is an owner surrender due to them not having time or funds to care for a hoof injury. At some point she had had an abscess and now a good portion of the hoof wall has died (possibly to a blow to it or something). The prognosis is very good however, the farrier feels that by this summer she will be sound enough to start light riding again and by this time next year should be 100% sound again on that hoof.
The short version of what will happen to her hoof is this, the dead sections of hoof will be cut away and replaced with an epoxy resin and then a shoe placed on her hoof for stability until new hoof has a chance to grow.
As you can see Dusty is a big solid girl, we suspect there might be a touch of draft in her...and she is a gorgeous color, Grulla we think.
Dusty is greenbroke although for the time being she must not be ridden until her hoof recovers.
Dusty is available for adoption now, we have the farrier scheduled to come out Oct 28th to fix the hoof so she will not leave until at the very least that is done..and even then only with his ok for her to move.Potential owners absolutely MUST make sure that she gets regular farrier work.
Adoption Fee $800

BLONDI
Blondi is a well broke 14 yr old AQHA mare, but has been a broodmare for the past few years and just recently we took her on her first ride. Have found that she was infact broke and very well. Neck reins, stops well and listens to all commands. She would be best suited for a confident rider but hasn't forgotten a thing or has gotten sour after all that time.
She's a nicely built mare and is a gorgeous color...she almost looks like a very dark palomino. She has a lot of black hair in her mane and tail too, so might have the silver gene.
She is on the list to have her feet done next farrier visit.
Adoption Fee $1200

STAR
Star registered as Terrific Shock
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/terrific+shock
is a 13 years QH mare. She stands 15.3 HH and is a really nice horse. Star came from a loving home where she's been a show horse and most recently a brood mare. A few years ago she slipped on some ice and tore the ligaments and tendons in her hind end so hasn't been ridden for some time. However the families daughter hopped on her a few days ago and she was fine. Due to these injuries she would only be considered sound enough for pleasure riding. Very well broke horse would excell from a rider who welcome a horse with energy as she has it. She's not crazy just you can feel that she loves her job and does it well.

MAGIC
Magic is a gorgeous solid black pony. She has recently had 30 days training put on her and is ready to find her forever home. She would make an excellent eventer pony as she has the stamina. She is great for dealing with around the ground. Is hard to catch in big fields but is coming slowly along with that. Has never offered to buck, bolt or rear well being ridden. Does walk, trot, whoa and backs up nicely. Tries her hardest to please but still needs lots of miles put on her before she'll be done.
NOT A KIDS HORSE!
She stands roughly 13.2hh, haven't officially measured. Rides western. Is good for feet and ferrier and is good for loading.
UTD on worming and ferrier.
Adoption Fee $600

PACINO
10 year old Registered Half Arabian Mare, Registered name SPIRIT. Wormed and up to dates on shots. Loads and trailers well, feet done recently. Sire Willy Poco, dam KGB Mirage. Palomino with star, blaze and snip into both nostrils to upper lip. Whorls; double vertical above eye level, high on crest right, behind poll on left. Last colt thrown was a beautiful cremello filly. Has been a broodmare but very good manners. Easy to catch and is a fairly social horse.

Bunny sounds like a wonderful girl. What are your adoption requirements/fees? Maybe I can convince hubby... ;)

ETA: I visited your website and found the adoption info! :) We might just have to drive up north one of these days and come for a visit!
